Clearinghouse

Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies maintains a Clearinghouse of educational materials directly related to our primary programs:

  • Safe Kids Safe Communities
  • Safe Kids Montana
  • Safe Routes to School.

These materials consist of:

  • Safe Kids Montana materials that focus on water and boat safety information
  • Safe Kids Montana, Safe Communities educational materials that consist of impaired driving, child and adult passenger safety tips, buckling up for two – pregnancy information.
  • Safe Routes to School educational materials that focus on bicycle/pedestrian safety for children.
  • CHIP Applications and A Parent Guide to Child Health Care Programs in Montana

These informational packets are distributed on a regular basis to the 16 Safe Kids Safe Communities Coalitions statewide for dissemination.  Information booklets and applications for Montana’s Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) as a part of the Montana Covering Kids and Families Campaign are distributed upon request through our toll free number.

Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies is focused on reorganizing its Clearinghouse.  It is the organization’s goal to re-establish and reorganize a program entitled, “Montana’s Child”, a public education, referral and outreach program to families with young children and pregnant women that will provide health, safety and parenting information to those who request this information through our toll-free line.

This program was a Clearinghouse of public educational materials and referral information for pregnant women and families with children under age 18.  Free informational packets provided health, safety, and parenting issues as well as developmental and immunization information.

It is also the intent of HMHB to expand upon its Clearinghouse of materials by providing additional information about Safe Sleep for Babies Program, a SIDS prevention program.  Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies intends to expand its base of outreach through this restructuring and promoting our ability to aid with referrals on a case-by-case basis.

To request information from our Clearinghouse or to find out more about HMHB and our programs or services, please contact our Toll Free Number at 1-800-421-6667.
