Celebrating Home Visiting in Montana
National Home Visiting Week offers an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the powerful impact of home visiting programs across the country and here in Montana.
Home visiting is built on something simple: trusted relationships. Across Montana, home visitors show up for families during some of the most important and vulnerable moments in their lives, offering support, education, connection, and care.
In a state as vast and rural as Montana, these connections are critical. Home visiting helps bridge gaps in access, strengthens families, and supports healthy beginnings for parents, babies, and young children.
This toolkit is designed to make it easy for partners, providers, and community members to join in celebrating this important work. Throughout the week, we invite you to share, amplify, and honor the voices and stories that make home visiting so meaningful.
Join us in April 20 – 24 in lifting up Montana Home Visitors and the families and they support.
Special thank you to the Institute for the Advancement of Family Support Professionals for the materials and inspiration they have put together to help inspire these local efforts. We encourage you to also look at the fantastic materials they have available and utilize anything that may be of additional use in your community.

April 20 – 24 is National Home Visiting Week. This week, we’re sharing stories of why real Montana families said yes to home visiting.
“I said yes to home visiting because, as a first-time mom, it can feel overwhelming bringing a child into the world without knowing what to do.
Having someone walk alongside me through pregnancy and birth has been one of the most joyful parts of this experience.
Not only do I have a nurse checking on my little girl and making sure she’s healthy, but she’s become like family.”

“Even with a background in early childhood, parenting your own kids is a whole different world.
It’s been so helpful to have an outside perspective—someone who reminds me about their development and shares new activity ideas.
I also don’t have a big circle, so it’s a blessing to have another trusted adult my kids feel safe and comfortable around.”

April 20 – 24 is National Home Visiting Week. This week, we’re sharing stories of why real Montana families said yes to home visiting.
“I needed some guidance as a first-time mom. I didn’t have the support of my family, and my husband’s family doesn’t live in Montana.
This experience has meant so much to me, and I would recommend it to anyone who is even a little bit interested.
It was something I never knew I needed—but now I can’t imagine doing this without it.”
